Graduate Teaching Assistantships
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Nevada, Reno offers a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics. Teaching Assistantships pay $14,000 per academic year with tuition and fee waiver. In addition, graduate students are eligible for scholarship awards up to $4,000 on a competitive basis. Opportunities for additional earnings my be available for summer research and instruction.
To guarantee full consideration, the deadline for applications for the spring semester (in any year) is Nov. 1, and the deadline for the fall semester is March 1.

Letter of Appointment (LoA) Positions
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Nevada, Reno often needs part-time temporary Letter of Appointment teaching positions. Minimum qualifications are normally a masters degree in a mathematical science or related field, demonstrated excellence in teaching mathematics, and expertise in the subject matter of the courses to be taught. We are particularly interested in those on leave from other institutions who have strong research records compatible with the interests of continuing faculty in the department. Salaries begin at $815 per semester credit hour, but may be considerably higher depending on experience and qualifications. Applications will be kept in a pool for one year, after which they will expire. Positions may be filled at any time as needed from this pool.
