I did a lot of work in math as an undergraduate, including taking lots of
classes, doing government-sponsered research, presenting a paper at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, writing a thesis on Igusa Local Zeta Functions, and being named an Alice T. Schafer Honoree by the Association for Women in Mathematics. As soon as I graduated in 2005, however, I became pregnant with my first child, and I have been living the life of a stay-at-home mom since then. Now I'm ready to continue my mathematical career, and I'm excited to be doing it at UNR. |

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (minor in Economics) from the University of Nevada, Reno. I and am currently pursuing my Master's in Pure Mathematics, after which I plan on doing doctoral studies. My main areas of interest are in Algebra and Topology, but I also enjoy Analysis. My hobbies include playing and writing music; I play saxophone, flute, clarinet, and a little piano. I spent 4 years in the UNR jazz department as an undergraduate and specialized in music composition throughout my studies. I am also a basketball fan, both college and the NBA. |

Since obtaining my bachelors I've had the privilege of teaching Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Calculus. I'm currently working towards my Master's in the field of nonlinear dynamics. My education so far has been both extremely difficult and rewarding thanks to our many great (and patient) professors. |
