Core curriculum > Core Substitution
You must first have your courses transferred to UNR and have your transcripts evaluated by the Transfer Center. The Transfer Center is located on the second floor of the Student Services building. The Core Curriculum office handles appeals only, and only after the Transfer Center has completed their review.
If you wish to file an appeal, you should obtain a “Request for Core Curriculum Requirement Substitutions” form from the Office of the Core Curriculum, the Office of Admissions and Records, or access the information at http://www.ss.unr.edu/records/forms.asp?formid=9
The form is in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format.
After filling out the form with what you believe are specific course equivalencies and rationale, you will need to include the following support:
It is highly recommended that you have your advisor sign the form. Please note that it may take up to three weeks to discern and evaluate the academic equivalencies.
If you are requesting transcript review prior to admission, you must note that NO course will meet substitution requirements if the University Transfer Office has not processed your transcript and you have a student number and DARS report.
