The following list contains some executive education courses offered by the center for Logistics Management at the University of Nevada, Reno in collaboration with COPPEAD.

Supply Chain Management Course

This course is jointly offered by the University of Nevada and COPPEAD. COPPEAD is the business school at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The intended audience is Brazilian Logistics and Supply Chain managers. The course will include lectures by Nevada and COPPEAD faculty and visits to firms in Reno, Nevada and Silicon Valley, California. Reno is a major distribution area and Silicon Valley is the home of the U.S. electronics industry.

Petroleum Course

This course was jointly offered by the University of Nevada and COPPEAD. COPPEAD is the business school at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The intended audience was Brazilian Petroleum Logistics managers. The course included lectures by leading experts and visits to state-of-the-art facilities in Houston, TX. Houston is the home of the U.S. petroleum industry.

Intermodal Course

This course is jointly offered by the University of Nevada and COPPEAD. COPPEAD is the business school at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The intended audience is Brazilian Logistics and Supply Chain managers. The course will include lectures by Nevada and COPPEAD faculty and visits to firms in Los Angeles, California,, Chicago, Illinois, and Detroit, Michigan. Los Angeles is a major port and Chicago is an important U.S. distribution hub. Detroit is home to the automotive industry which uses a lot of intermodal capacity.

The last course was on March 7-11, 2005 in Los Angeles, Chicago, & Detroit, USA. Please check back for upcoming courses.

Nevada Facts:

Ansari Business Building This facility, completed in 1982, provides 110,000 square feet for the College of Business Administration . Also housed in the building are the Nevada Small Business Development Center, Bureau of Business and Economic Research, the College of Arts and Science, Interior Design Program, Mathematics Department, Anthropology Department and a number of other academic units. The building also houses the Anthropology Research Museum.
