The Early Learning Center
Philosophy of the ELC: The Early Learning Center
is a multiaged (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) grade classroom housed in the College of
Education. This classroom serves as a model of current teaching practices
for undergraduate and graduate students, teachers, and administrators. This
classroom also serves as a research site for studies focused on literacy.
Applications for Enrollment to the ELC: Parents can place their child’s name on the applicant list at Sierra Vista Elementary School beginning the first Monday after Spring Break of WCSD.
A representative from the University of Nevada, Reno will contact parents
on the list by the end of the week to discuss the assessment and entrance
process that is followed.
The ELC is a unique educational environment and there are a few important
points to keep in mind when you consider the ELC.
We encourage you to apply if you feel you can comply with all of these requirements.
