The Women's Studies program is active in sponsoring a variety of events for campus and community audiences. Every month the program hosts brown bag lunch research presentations by UNR faculty members and graduate students in diverse fields. During March of each year, the Women's Studies program works closely with the Women's Resource Center and the Nevada Women's History Project, to organize events in recognition and celebration of National Women's History Month, such as guest speakers, panel discussions, photo exhibits, and films. In addition, the program collaborates with different student groups on projects and activities, including the Director's involvement as the faculty advisor of the Women's Political Action Network (WPAN).

The Women's Studies Program is located in Mack Social Science, room 124. The newly built complex offers a comfortable lounge, open to students and faculty at all times, and a conference room and library, as well as the Director's office. Resources for both students and faculty are located there, including guides to Women's Studies library research, film and video information, bibliographies, newsletters and publications, and information about national and international Women's Studies programs and events. Every month, photos and descriptions of women in history are displayed on the department's hallway bulletin board.

Finally, an interdisciplinary advisory board, composed of faculty, administrators, and student representatives, works closely with the Women's Studies Director. The board assists the Director by reviewing the academic program and helping to design and implement special projects developed through the Women's Studies Program.
