Rosie Trump received her Bachelor of Arts from Slippery Rock University and her Masters of Fine Arts in Experimental Choreography from the University of California, Riverside.
Rosie is a choreographer and dance filmmaker with a hybrid practice in performance and video media. Her creative work stems from an interest in representations of femininity, domesticity, identity and intimacy. Rosie's choreography and films havebeen presented throughout California, Texas and the Northeastern United States, as well as France and Germany. Recently, her work was presented by the Comedy in Dance Festival (NYC), the MixMatch Dance Festival (LA), the Prague Fringe Festival, Dance Film Festival UK (London and YourMove Dance Festival (NJ).
She has taught at Rice University and Mt. San Jacinto College, as well as presented master classes at the Texas Dance Improvisation Festival and the American College Dance Festival.
Rosie is the founder and curator of the Third Coast Dance Film Festival, which celebrates the intersection of contemporary dance and the moving image with an annual screening and touring series of international dance films. The Third Coast Dance Film Festival has screened across the United States, including at the Nevada Museum of Art, DiverseWorks, the Kaleidoscope arts festival, the Earth Matters on Stage Symposium, Rice University Gallery, and the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.
