Letter of Appoinment - Dance
Jennie Pitts received her Bachelor of Arts degree in dance and
English literature from the University of Oregon and received
her Master of Fine Arts degree in dance education from the
University of Colorado at Boulder.
A dedicated educator, Jennie has taught creative movement, dance and yoga classes through‐
out the western states and in the Czech Republic for organizations such as the Vancouver
Public School District, University of Colorado, The International School of Music & Fine Arts,
Prague, University of Nevada, Reno, Truckee Meadows Community College, and Sierra College.
Her choreography has been commissioned and/or presented by Iowa State University, The
Dance Cartel, Wing and a Prayer Modern Dance Company, Nevada Shakespeare Company,
Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, University of Nevada, Reno, Artown, The American
College Dance Festival, and Dance/Theatre Shannon. She is the Founder/Director of Four
Rooms Dance Collective, a Reno/Tahoe based contemporary dance collaborative. Her
choreography has received support from Sierra Arts, and the Nevada Arts Council. Jennie is
also a Registered Yoga Teacher and currently teaches yoga at O2 Wellness Studio, Sierra
College and the University of Nevada, Reno.
