Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Dance
While theatre and dance are identified as separate art forms, the distinctions between them are ever fluid. Each takes place in time and space, and explores narrative, explicit or implied. Dance is theatrical, and theatre is physical. Each is an abstraction of life intended to express significance about the world in which we live.
In our program, theatre offers distinct tracks in performance and design technology. Dance offers opportunities to perform ballet, modern, jazz, and a host of other styles. As a department we focus on detailed instruction in each area of study, and profit from the synergy of our interconnected art forms.
