Advising in the College of Liberal Arts

Academic advising in the college is primarily delivered by department advisors. Students will have, at a minimum, an advisor within their major program who assists them with planning their course schedules and tracking their program requirements. Students who are required or who optionally choose to complete a minor program will also have a minor program advisor to help them track their minor program requirements.

Advisor Contact List*
Click the link above to get a PDF copy of the Advisor list. If you have any problems opening this attachment, please come by the Dean's Office or call us at (775) 784-6155 and we will provide you with copy of the list.

The dean's office coordinates all advising activities in the college, and students may contact the Coordinator of Advising, Recruitment and Retention with advising questions at any time. Additionally, since it is the dean's office which provides final college review of all applications for graduation, students may also request a pre-graduation evaluation appointment to insure that their entire program is tracking correctly.

Scheduling an Advising Appointment

All students on being accepted to the college should schedule an appointment to meet with their major department advisor. Current students should also plan to see their major department advisor at least once a semester.

Plan to come to your advising appointment prepared to make the most of your time with your advisor by reviewing our tips for advisees . You may also wish to review our page on what you can expect from your advisor.

All advisor contact information is available online. Students may also get the list of advisor contacts by stopping by the dean's office in Ansari Business Room 631, calling (775)784-6155, or e-mailing us .
