Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the Department of Speech Communication and Theatre. This virtual visit will help answer your questions about our programs, courses, activities, and faculty. We would also like to welcome you in person. Please consider a visit to our offices, classrooms, shops, and theaters in the Church Fine Arts Building on North Virginia Street in Reno.

The people in our department are interested in building understanding, skills, and confidence in oral communication. Students give presentations, act in plays, and participate in interpersonal communication activities. Faculty members encourage classroom interaction-questions and dialog. Teachers and students collaborate on theater productions, communication research, and classroom projects. We think human beings learn best by doing, and our programs reflect that principle.

Talk to us. And welcome to our website.
