Dr. Markus Kemmelmeier is Assistant Professor of Sociology. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2001 in social psychology. Dr. Kemmelmeier has published several articles in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, and Social Psychology Quarterly.
His research focuses on the study of culture, social judgment, power, and group dynamics. He is currently engaged in how political orientation shapes academic success in college, and the influence of American national symbols in cultural reproduction.
