Administrative Assistant, Kristen Kabrin, has been with the Political Science department for 10 years.
Kristen previously worked as the Front Desk Manager at the University Inn for eight years prior to transitioning to the Political Science Department. While at the University Inn, she was pursuing an undergraduate degree in political science.
As the Administrative Assistant, she works with the department chair keeping the department functioning. Among her responsibilities, Kristen handles purchasing items such as computers and office supplies for the faculty and the department, arranging travel and assisting faculty manage and budget their grants and research projects. Her most recent contribution to the department includes the management and revamp of the website.
Throughout her time in the Department, Kristen completed her bachelor's degree in Political Science and began the masters program for Educational Leadership under the College of Education in Fall 2007. She is on track to graduate with her master's degree in December 2011.
In addition to Kristen working toward her master's degree, she volunteers for the Nevada Humane Society fostering kittens and preparing them for adoption. She currently owns two dogs (Tana and Toby) and three cats (Striper, Gobo and Cooper).
