Applied Music Recital Procedures
Specific Procedures for Bachelor of Music in Applied Music
Candidates for the Bachelor of Music in Performance degree must present a junior and senior recital. Students must register for MUS 499A, Senior Recital, during the semester in which the senior recital is given. See general information on Recital Policies for additional information on how to proceed. Specific criteria for Applied Music student recitals are listed as follows:
Junior Recitals
Voice
- 30 minutes of music.
- French, German, Italian, and English selections must be included.
- Four periods of musical literature should be represented.
- Voice students must memorize the entire recital, except for oratorio selections or chamber music.
Piano
Requirements are left to the discretion of the instructor.
Winds, Strings, Percussion
Requirements are left to the discretion of the instructor.
Senior Recitals
Voice
- 50 minutes of music.
- French, German, Italian, and English selections must be included.
- Four periods of musical literature should be represented.
- Voice students must memorize the entire recital, except for oratorio selections or chamber music.
Piano
Repertoire must be memorized. Students may present one chamber work in recital that need not be performed from memory.
Winds, Strings, Percussion
Requirements are left to the discretion of the instructor.
