Listed in the "Who's Who in the World" and "Who's Who
in America". Helen Lee has been teaching voice at UNR's Music Department
for more than twenty years. She was the district winner for the Metropolitan
Opera Audition Competition
and has performed at both New York's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
She has sung for Olympic Gold Medalist figure skater Katarina Witt on
an internationally televised performance, and has made a concert tour
of Japan where she also appeared on national television. She had returned
to give concerts at the National Concert Hall in her native Taiwan,
where she was a national winner of a vocal competition and had soloed
with the Taiwan National
Symphony and made numerous recordings prior to her departure for the
States for her postgraduate degree. She gave a concert in nine languages
as a part of
a UNR multicultural celebration and was the president of the UNR faculty's
Honor Society for International Scholars and received recognition at
an
international conference in Montreal. She has performed as a guest soloist
with San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Reno Chamber Orchestra, and Reno
Philharmonic Symphony, and frequently performs as a guest artist throughout
many major cities of the United States and Canada.
