Dwyane L. Hollenbach - Lecturer of Trumpet at the University of Nevada Reno and currently Principal Trumpet with the Reno Baroque Ensemble, trumpet with the Reno Philharmonic, Nevada Opera, and freelance trumpet in Reno, and San Francisco; is a native of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, a small town one hour north of Philadelphia, PA. After completing his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in trumpet performance at the Manhattan School of Music, Mr. Hollenbach began an eclectic career in performing, starting in Nashville, TN, playing with locals Mini Pearl and Boots Randolph, as well as playing for Opryland and the Grand Old Opry. After moving back to New York City, Mr. Hollenbach played with the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, The Philadelphia Baroque Trumpet Ensemble, and began a series of Broadway show tours starting with The King and I, and continuing for the next five years on the road with Meet Me in St. Louis, Mystery of Edwin Drood, Me and My Girl, Singing in the Rain, and others. After these tours, Mr. Hollenbach began his Doctoral studies at the University of Kentucky with trumpeter Vince DiMartino. Mr. Hollenbach then returned home to Philadelphia to play and tour with the Chestnut Brass Company and to teach at Temple University.
After a move to Reno, NV, Mr. Hollenbach began playing with the Reno Philharmonic, Nevada Opera, Reno Chamber Orchestra, Reno Jazz Orchestra, Great Basin Brass Quintet, and playing in show bands for many entertainers as they come through the Reno/Tahoe area. After teaching in New York for four years, Mr. Hollenbach returned to Reno to continue teaching and playing and living in the wonderful state of Nevada. Mr. Hollenbach is married to Emily, a horn player and educator. They live in Sparks Nevada with their 4 children, Julianna (6), Gabriel (5), Rebekah (3), and Benny (1) and love to play together in as many groups as they can.
