Stipend:

Stipends range from $5000 to $14,000, plus an out-of-state fee waiver of $8487, and in-state partial fee waivers

Responsibilities:

Teach one of the following: Music Appreciation, Jazz Survey, History of American Popular Song, Music Fundamentals, undergraduate applied studio lessons, and/or assist with the band program.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in music and admission to UNR Graduate School.

M.A. in Music History or Music Theory, M.M. in Music Education, Performance (vocal or instrumental), Orchestral Studies, Composition, Choral Conducting, and Instrumental Conducting.

The Department of Music has 16 full-time and 28 part-time faculty, and approximately 200 music majors. The department offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, Master of Arts, and Master of Music degrees, and is a member of the National Association of Music Schools of Music. The University of Nevada, Reno has approximately 14,000 students, and is a land-grant institution of Nevada. The Reno-Tahoe area, with a population in excess of 300,000, supports the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, the Reno chamber Orchestra, the nevda Opera Association, and many arts-oriented events.
