Stipend: Stipends
range from $5000 to $14,000, plus an out-of-state fee waiver of
$8487, and in-state partial fee waivers Responsibilities: Teach
one of the following: Music Appreciation, Jazz Survey, History of
American Popular Song, Music Fundamentals, undergraduate applied
studio lessons, and/or assist with the band program. Qualifications Bachelor's
degree in music and admission to UNR Graduate School. Deadline

offered: M.A.
in Music History or Music Theory, M.M. in Music Education, Performance
(vocal or instrumental), Orchestral Studies, Composition, Choral
Conducting, and Instrumental Conducting.
General
Information: The
Department of Music has 16 full-time and 28 part-time faculty, and
approximately 200 music majors. The department offers Bachelor of
Arts, Bachelor of Music, Master of Arts, and Master of Music degrees,
and is a member of the National Association of Music Schools of
Music. The University of Nevada, Reno has approximately 14,000 students,
and is a land-grant institution of Nevada. The Reno-Tahoe area,
with a population in excess of 300,000, supports the Reno Philharmonic
Orchestra, the Reno chamber Orchestra, the nevda Opera Association,
and many arts-oriented events. Reno is reknowned for its wonderfully
varied climate and extensive outdoor recreation opportunities. |
