Registered students of The University Piano Ensemble receive private coaching from Mr. Winn. The ensemble plays literature for two pianos or piano/four hands. This ensemble is especially suited to Applied Music Majors with an emphasis in piano.
Keyboard students are required to participate in a major ensemble. Keyboard students may substitute up to 50% (4 semesters) of major ensemble requirement by enrolling in MUS 229/429/629, Techniques of Piano Accompaniment.
About the Director
Dr. Winn was a member of the 1980 Munich International Competition top prize-winning duo, and is a piano and composition professor in the Department of Music. An active recording artist, Winn is featured in more than three dozen CDs as soloist, chamber musician, and composer. Dr. Winn's compositions have been performed internationally.
Audition Information
The Department of Music offers opportunities to any University student demonstrating sufficient musical ability to participate in performing ensembles. Please contact the director for registration information.
