Lauren Yero
Lauren was born and raised in Florida, where she developed a profound love for afternoon thunderstorms and a disenchantment for all things Disney. After completing her BA in English at Davidson College, she spent a few years sorting out her academic goals while working as a travel writer, baker, and elementary school teacher.
As a first-year MA student, her academic interests include (but are not limited to) postcolonial studies, 20th century Latin American literature, and theories of wilderness--both "natural" and urban. She also loves baking bread, growing food, dancing of all kinds, and learning to build houses with mud. She wishes there were more hours in the day.
