Tamara Turnbeaugh

Tamara Turnbeaugh grew up in the small mountain town of Markleeville, California. After high school, she moved on to ski for the University of Nevada, where she earned a degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English. In love with the outdoor opportunities of the Reno area (really, it's not all casinos), Tamara has remained here hiking, telemark skiing, fly fishing, bike riding, and teaching high school.

Tamara now returns to the University of Nevada in search of ways to re-invigorate the high school English curriculum; she has turned to L&E in order to find relevant approaches and meaningful literature for the modern classroom. Currently, she interested in visual texts and bioregional works. Because she's awesome at it, and she loves it, she continues teaching all levels of high school English, including Advanced Placement, while working on her MA.
