Lauren McCrady

Lauren McCrady was born and raised in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. After high school she earned a BA in English and Secondary Education at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Following that, Lauren spent a year cultivating an obsessive and unrelenting love for the Colorado Plateau. She is currently developing a similar relationship with the Great Basin.

Lauren is still narrowing her research focus, but she is currently most interested in exploring the intersection of gender, class, and place in texts by twentieth-century African American and Caribbean women writers.

Outside of academia, Lauren enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, running, and watching cartoons from the 90s.
