Jerry Keir

Jerry Keir is the co-founder and director of the Great Basin Institute, an interdisciplinary environmental field studies program at the University of Nevada, Reno. He has taught field studies throughout the Sierra Nevada and Great basin region, while also coordinating an international field study program on the central Pacific coast of Mexico. His doctoral research concerns the natural history writing of Aldo Leopold. He enjoys mountain and desert play with his spouse, Maria, and their two children, Alejandro and Amaya, and their happy Yellow Lab, Sal.
