George English Brooks

George English Brooks grew up between the cottonwood canyons of Utah’s Wasatch Front and studied literature (English & Spanish/Latin American) and linguistics at the University of Utah. Before coming to UNR, he spent several years running an adult literacy program, teaching, and gardening in central Utah’s Sanpete Valley. As an MA student in the L&E program, his research and teaching interests include ecocomposition, bioregionalism, inter-American literatures, border studies, postcolonialism, environmental justice, and globalization. In his spare time English enjoys Mexican radio, squinting at birds, and inventing poorly attended high-altitude marathons.
