Nick Neely

Nick Neely is a graduate of Brown University, Rhode Island, where he concentrated in Literary Arts and Environmental Studies, and edited Watershed, Brown and RISD's Journal of Environment and Culture, www.watershedjournal.org. He's spent recent summers in Eugene, OR studying reptiles and birds; in Lee Vining, CA working for the Mono Lake Committee; in Seattle, WA as an intern at the Seattle Audubon Society; and in Providence, RI writing about recreational fisherman on the Seekonk River. Nick is originally from Portola Valley, California and is excited to be back in the West. His scholarly interests include contemporary ecopoetics, urban environmental writing, and the lyric essay. Among other pursuits, he enjoys cooking, fly fishing, tree climbing, backpacking, playing Scrabble, and browsing second-hand stores. He's also a runner, happy to be at altitude and hoping to run a fast marathon in the coming year.
