FRANK J. TOBIN, professor of German with a Ph.D. from Stanford University, is an internationally-renowned expert on medieval literature and philosophy. He has published major books on Meister Eckhart and on Mechthild von Magdeburg, numerous articles on the German Middle Ages, and a co-authored two-volume anthology of German literature. He also serves on the board of Studia Mystica and Mystic Quarterly. His most recent publication is the first English translation of Mechthild von Magdeburg's book-length text, Flowing Light of the Godhead. Prof. Tobin teaches German, Latin, medieval philosophy and Western Traditions.
