JOHN CARSON PETTEY, associate professor of German, came to UNR from Washington University in St. Louis, where he received his Ph.D. He has published on the female aphorism, as well as on Nietzsche and García Márquez. He teaches all areas of German language, literature, and culture, as well as the introduction to literary theory for departmental graduate students and Western Traditions.
