JAIME LEAÑOS, Ph.D.
Jaime Leaños Associate Professor of Spanish received his Ph.D., from The University of Arizona (2002). His major areas of research are Medieval and Renaissance Spanish literature. In 2006, he was the recipient of the Alan Bible Teaching Excellence Award, for which he was also nominated in 2007. Dr. Leaños’s most recent publication is a book on the influence that Eneas Silvio Piccolomini (later Pope Pius II, 1458-64) had on the court of one of the most influential Spanish queens, Isabel the Catholic (Scripta Humanistica, 2007). He is preparing a second book on the Christian-Muslim relations in the Middle Ages. In addition, he has published articles in refereed journals and delivered papers at international and national conferences. He teaches Spanish Peninsular Literature as well as Spanish language courses.
