J. NELSON ROJAS, Ph.D., Professor of Spanish and a native of Chile, received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington. He teaches Romance and Spanish linguistics, contemporary Latin American poetry, Spanish composition and conversation, and French language courses. He has written Spanish textbooks for the secondary and university levels and also been instrumental in developing new courses in translation at both the intermediate and advanced levels. He is a co-author of the textbooks De una vez, Mundo 21, El Mundo 21 hispano, and Gramática esencial. His principal areas of research are Spanish linguistics and contemporary Latin American poetry.
