Hosted by the Spanish section and the Latino Research Center
every Spring, the contest is for 300-and-above level students
There are three categories:
Undergraduate native Spanish speaker,
Undergraduate non-native Spanish speaker, and
Literary writings (poetry, short story, essay) are accepted and must be completely original. The papers that have been written for classes may be submitted. The papers should be no longer than three (3) pages, typed, double-spaced, with a 12 pt size font (Times New Roman), and must be accompanied by an electronic file.
The literary writings should be turned into Guillermo Mezo or Pedro Gómez with a pseudonym.
The Jury of the Contest will be made up of Dr. Emma Sepúlveda, Dr. Darrell Lockhart, and Guillermo Meza.
The winners, plus a few others, are published in VOCES and receive a cash prize.
