LOUIS MARVICK, associate professor of French, received his Ph.D. from Columbia University. His specialty is fin de siècle French literature and culture, on which he has published various studies. Currently he is working on a book-length manuscript on music and poetry in the late nineteenth century. He teaches courses in French language and literature and is half time in the Western Traditions program.
