DARRELL B. LOCKHART, Associate professor of Spanish and graduate advisor, received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University (1995). He has been at UNR since 1999 where he teaches Latin American literature and culture, including courses on Latin American popular culture, film, theater, and narrative. He is a specialist in contemporary Southern Cone literature and Jewish Latin American literature and cultural production with a variety of publications in these areas. He is the editor of Latin American Jewish Writers: A Dictionary (1997), Latin American Mystery Writers: An A to Z Guide (2004) and Latin American Science Fiction Writers: An A to Z Guide (2004) and the co-author of Culture and Customs of Argentina (1998). Currently, he is the production editor for the journal Chasqui (see link below). In addition he is the treasurer of the Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA) (see link below).
