JAIME LEAÑOS, Assistant Professor of Spanish, received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona (2002) with a specialization in Medieval Spanish Literature. He is a specialist in the Spanish Sentimental Novel and is now researching the influence that Eneas Silvio Piccolomini, an Italian renacentist, also known as Pius II, had in Spain; starting with the courts of Maria of Aragon and Isabel of Portugal, first and second wives of Juan II and finally, ending with the court of one of the most powerful woman in history, Isabel of Castille. He teaches Spanish Peninsular Literature as well as Spanish language courses.
