ISABELLE
FAVRE, an associate Professor of French originally
from Switzerland, received her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado
at Boulder. Her specialty is Francophone literature; she is mainly
interested in the theoretical aspects of linguistic variety within
the same language. She teaches courses on literatures from the Caribbean,
Québec, Switzerland and France, focusing on specific approaches
such as négritude, créolité, postmodernism
and narratology. She has delivered conference papers nationally
and internationally. She is the author of "La différance
francophone" published in 2001.
