The Dr. Donald Mousel and Dr. William Feltner Award for Excellence in Research and/or Creative Activity
In 1993, Carol Mousel and Barbara Feltner, longtime College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board members and community activists, established the Mousel Feltner Award for Excellence in Research and/or Creative Activity. They, along with their husbands, surgeon William Feltner and the late pediatric ophthalmologist Donald Mousel supported the College of Liberal Arts for many years. The Mousel/Feltner Award acknowledges a wide range of accomplishments--scholarship, artistry, and creative activity that benefits the university and the community.
Recipients of the Mousel/Feltner Award are chosen by a selection committee composed of prior year's recipients.
Winner of the 2004 Mousel Feltner Award was David Leitner of the Chemistry Department. Runner up was Gloria Tortuicaguena, of the Basque Studies Program.
