Faculty and Staff
Faculty in the College of Liberal Arts wear many hats. They are not only responsible for teaching in their specific disciplines, but are also committed to implementing and sustaining the university's Core Curriculum which is required for all undergraduate majors. Each semester, our faculty teach approximately 50% of the undergarduate students enrolled in the university.
About half of our current faculty has been hired in the last ten years. During this same time period, research and creative productivity have nearly quadrupled.
Today, many members of the College of Liberal Arts faculty are not only immersed in the study, teaching and research of their discipline, but in the crosscurrents of interdisciplinary studies and education. Incorporating math into humanities courses and writing into the physical sciences and team teaching a "Sense of place" from a historian's and geographer's point of view are only two examples of such activity.
