Elizabeth Swingrover was educated at the University of Southern California in their Thematic Option Honors program and received her Ph.D. from the University of Nevada.   A member of the English department, she teaches courses in creative writing, Native American literature, and the literature of the American counterculture.  Her short fiction and poetry have been published in numerous literary magazines. She has also led the English department's London Summer Program for two years. Her latest book, The Counterculture Reader, is available from Longman/Pearson/Penguin .
