Habitat for Humanity (2008) – A date is being set to help build houses at the Stead, NV site.
Volunteer to search for missing person Brianna Denison, abducted near the University late January. Meeting at Circus Circus, Friday, February 8th.
Past Community Service:
Adopt a Family (December 2007): Members again donated money for this yearly community service. This time the family was chosen through ______. Members shopped and wrapped the gifts to be delivered in time for Christmas
Adopt a Family (December 2006): Members donated money and spent an afternoon shopping for a local family; the father a student of the University. The gifts for the Mother, Father and two little girls were then wrapped and delivered to the family of four. The family was surprised with a truckload of gifts for Christmas.
Habitat for Humanity (October 2006): Five APS members met at a local Habitat for Humanity housing site. Members spent a Saturday laying plywood for the flooring of one Habitat house.
Truckee River Clean-up (September 2006): Five APS members met by the Truckee River for a city-wide clean-up day. Members spent four hours picking up trash next to the river and spreading mulch with 100s of other area volunteers. A member from the society even got a slot on the evening news.
