Faculty - Douglas FermoileDoug graduated from the University of Nevada with a B.A. Double Major in English Literature and Political Science in 1978. He obtained his law degree (J.D.) from Willamette University College of Law in 1981 and passed the Nevada bar exam that year. He is also a member of the United States Supreme Court bar (1986), the United States District of Nevada bar (1981), the United States Circuit Court of Appeals – 9th Circuit (1987) and the Nevada State Gaming Commission bar (1981). He was an associate attorney with the law firm of Fahrenkopf, Mortimer, Sourwine, Mousel & Sloan from 1981-1983. He has been in private practice with his own firm from 1983 – present. From 1992-1996 he was a Special Prosecutor with the Washoe County District Attorney's office prosecuting misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor and felony cases. Fermoile has taught at the University of Nevada in the English Department (1981) and the Criminal Justice Department (1983-present) most recently teaching Criminal Law and Procedure.
