Comprehensive Examination Information - Study Guide
In preparation for the comp, the student is allowed (and highly encouraged) to make a typed study guide to be used during the day of testing. The Department is more concerned with determining the student's ability to demonstrate understanding of and ability to process Core course and methodological concepts than to simply memorize them. Thus, each student taking the Comp is allowed to create a 2,000-word, typed Word document with any material the student wishes to serve as notes and citation reminders. The font must be 12-point and the line spacing no more than double. This study guide must be submitted to the Graduate Coordinator no less than 24 hours prior to the arranged time and date of the Comp. On the day of the comp, a printed version of the study guide will be provided to the student.
