Originally from Los Angeles, Elizabeth Swingrover was educated at the University
of Southern California in their Honors program and received her Ph.D. at
the University of Nevada. A member of the English department, she teaches
courses in creative writing, American literature, and the literatures of
the
American counterculture as well as teaching in the London Summer Program.
Her short fiction and
poetry have been published in numerous literary magazines. Her latest book,
The Counterculture Reader, was published by LongmanPenguin in
2004. She is currently at work on a novel about Nevada.
