Kenneth Lucey joined the
philosophy department of the University of Nevada in January 1999.
He has a Ph.D. from Boston University and has been a Visiting Fellow at
both Princeton University and at the University of Pittsburgh. He
moved to Nevada after teaching for 29 years at the State University of New
York, College at Fredonia, where he served as department chairman for a
dozen years and spent five years as Assistant Vice President for Academic
Affairs. He is the editor of Recent Work in Philosophy, What
Is God?, and On Knowing and the Known, and the author of various
articles in philosophy journals. His areas of particular interest
are: the theory of knowledge, philosophical logic, philosophy of religion,
and the metaphysical questions of fate, freedom and ontology. Professor
Lucey lives in Carson City with his wife, Dr. Carol Lucey, the president
of Western Nevada Community College, and with their golden retriever, Teak.
