Dr. William Plenk oversees the University of Nevada Wolf Pack Marching Band, Pep Bands and Symphonic Band. In the Department of Music he teaches courses in marching band techniques and conducting as well as lessons on the tuba. In addition to his doctorate, he holds a Master of Music degree in tuba performance from UCLA.

Outside the university, Dr. Plenk is highly active as a clinician and adjudicator. He has worked with concert and marching bands across the United States and in Singapore and Japan. For three seasons he worked with the Tenrikyo Aimachi Marching Band from Nagoya, Japan, the eight-time All Japan National Champion.

Dr. Plenk has served on the staff of several drum and bugle corps, including The Academy, Boston Crusaders, and The Phantom Regiment. He holds membership in a number of professional associations, including the College Band Directors National Association and Nevada Music Educators Association.
