Never
again: The Pink Triangle Pages
Homosexuals
and the Holocaust
This
web page was created by Ben Austin who is associated
with a university sociology department. His page covers
many human rights issues. His presentation of Homosexuals
in the Holocaust is great. The information is broken
down into various topics which helps the reader stay
focused on the issue at hand. The page gives a basic
historical overview going back to the 1860s. Paragraph
175, the law that made homosexuality illegal, and
its amendments are defined. Austin also gives a full
account of the Roehm Affair, and the Vaernet Cure.
He also includes parts of Himmlers speech to
SS Commanders on February 18, 1937. The page also
has a personal account from a homosexual in a concentration
camp.
HATE
CRIMES: A troubling trend demands tougher federal
laws
This
website focuses with various hate-crimes not only
to the gay and lesbian community. The article talks
about the demands for tougher federal laws. It goes
in depth with President Clinton's speech in November
1997 calling for stronger federal hate-crime laws
and the troubling number of church burnings over the
past years. It is an interesting and quick reading.
Youth
Violence
This article is a true story about youth violence
and homophobia. A paperback about the death of a 23-year
old homosexual by a teenager collides with the issue
of youth and homophobia that makes up this article.
It is an emotional reading.
