86th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide
The Center for Holocaust, Genocide, and Peace Studies acknowledges the 86th anniversary of the April 24, 1915 Armenian genocide when more than 1.5 million Armenians (out of a total of 2 million) were massacred by the Ottoman Turkish government, in a vicious, premeditated plan to exterminate the Armenian people of Turkey — the first genocide of the 20th century. Now, 86 years later, Armenians all over the world commemorate this event as one of the gravest crimes against humanity. Let us join them in hoping such atrocities will never happen again.
