Poetry - "The Real Enemy"
Bombs are dropped on Kosovo
From planes launched in the sea
Someone should say that this is wrong
Anyone but me

The Hutus killed thousands of Tutsis
In the savanna their bones still dry
Someone should have protected them
Anyone but I

A generation of Cambodians is dead
Their blood on the hands of the Khmer Rouge
Someone should have stopped the killing fields
Anyone but me or you

All around the world people have died
Under rulers bent on totality
But tyrants aren’t the ones to blame
It’s our own apathy

Matt Krautscheid (HGPS 201 student)
