Dean Pierce
Dean Pierce is Professor and Director of the University
of Nevada, Reno, School of Social Work.
An
active member of the Council on Social Work Education,
he chairs its Commission on Accreditation. He also is
active with the Nevada Chapter of the National Association
of Social Workers, having served as president, board
member, and chair of the Western Coalition for the 1996
Delegate Assembly.
Dr.
Pierce serves as vice-president of Nevada's Social Work
Licensing Board. He is the author of Social Work
and Society and Policy for the Social Work Practitioner,
and has presented dozens of refereed and invitational
papers and workshops dealing with gay and lesbian issues.
Dr.
Pierce teaches a lesbian/gay lives, capstone/diversity
class.
