Lois J. Parker
Lois J. Parker, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist, who
has been at the university since 1979. For much of her
tenure here, she has been the chief administrator and
director of the Counseling and Testing Center.
In recent years, she has participated in several humanitarian
initiatives with People to People International, and,
in 2003, she was the recipient of the university's Thornton
Peace Prize.
Her research interest focuses on the mythopoeic process
(both narrative and imagistic) resonating between the
literary arts and psychotherapy--its influence on consciousness
(individual, historical, and mythological) and its possibilities
for transforming the future. She is the author of Mythopoesis
and The Crisis Of Postmodernism: Toward Integrating
Image And Story.

"I
believe the work that Viktoria, the Center's staff,
and our Board of Directors are doing is one giant step
toward making our world of tomorrow a far better place
than it would be without such a program. Past, present,
and future are linked, reinforcing lessons of peace
and tolerance."
