RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and it is an easy way to use "syndicated content" such as news and updates. The benefit of subscribing to an RSS feed is that you don't need to visit the site regularly to stay up-to-date on what's being discussed.

Think of an RSS feed as a radio station so all you need is a radio (or an RSS reader/aggregator in this case) to get the information you need!

To access these feeds in a readable format, you will need an RSS reader/aggregator. There are three main ways to use an RSS aggregator: a client-based application, a plug-in for your browser, or a web script that runs on your website.

• Google Reader is a free online RSS reader.
• Microsoft Outlook 2007 has a built-in RSS aggregator.
• There are RSS extensions for the excellent (and secure) Firefox and Mozilla Web browsers; there are also several RSS toolbars/sidebars available for Internet Explorer.
• NewsOnFeeds.com has a large list of online and desktop aggregators.
