Because Career Development's mission is to serve students and alumni, Career Development services are available only to defined service populations: currently enrolled UNR students, UNR alumni, and prospective students. Fees are assessed based on client status and the services used.
Currently enrolled students are students who have registered, paid their registration fees for the current semester, and are enrolled in courses as UNR students.
Alumni are individuals who have graduated from UNR. Alumni seriously considering making application to, in the process of applying to, or are admitted but not yet enrolled at UNR to continue their education are considered prospective students.
Prospective students are individuals or transfer students who are seriously considering making application to, in the process of applying to, or are admitted but not yet enrolled at UNR to continue their education.
Currently enrolled students are eligible for all services. Over the summer, between a student’s semesters, they are also eligible, as long as their enrollment record demonstrates continuous enrollment.
Prospective students are eligible for all services, with the exception of Career Opportunities. Prospective students are not eligible for Career Opportunities services and events as these services are designed for enrolled students – unless they have paid for their upcoming semester; proof of registration may be requested. Services may be discontinued if/when it is discovered that a “prospective student” client is not intending to enroll at UNR.
Alumni are eligible for both Career Assessment services and Career Opportunities services, for which fees are associated. For Career Fairs and any other Career Opportunities events, only currently enrolled students (including incoming paid prospective students), and pre-registered alumni can participate. Contact Judy Carrico for details: jlcarrico@unr.edu Alumni are eligible to use the for-fee Letter of Recommendation Service (LRS) and Dossier Services and have access to the program through the Career Opportunities fee.
Unless presenting as prospective students or alumni, services are not available for UNR staff, UNR faculty, students from TMCC, WNCC, GBCC, CCSN or UNLV, or the general public.
Reciprocal services are provided in accordance to NACE standards and the student seeking such privileges must initiate the request from their home institution.
