All team and individual sport activities require a completed entry form and payment of the registration fee by the designated deadline. Entry forms will not be accepted if they are not accompanied by fee payment. Please note that the entry fees vary in price between league sports and tournaments. Check with the Intramural Sports Program for specific league and tournament entry fees.
The University's Intramural Program offers students many fun and inexpensive sport activities. For more information about intramural sports or to pick up official entry forms, visit the Membership Services Desk located on the first floor of the Lombardi Recreation Building or call (775) 682-7085.
Designed for team participation, leagues consist of a five-week season with each team competing once per week for a five game season. All teams that qualify then move onto a single elimination championship tournament for that sport.
Designed for individual or team participation, tournaments start and finish during a designated time period, usually within a week. Participants usually play multiple games.
All leagues and tournaments are recreational to promote participation over competition. Intramural play features Men's, Women's, Co-Ed, and Greek Divisions. Some sports will have further divided levels of play that could include an "A" or "B" league in a division. Co-Ed Leagues will have a minimum number of women needed (usually 3) to start a game. Co-Ed teams must also have at least one male on the field of play for each game. More specific rules on the number of females are available in the specific sport's rule books.
All officially enrolled University of Nevada, Reno students, faculty, and staff members are eligible to participate in Intramural Sports. When competing in Intramural Sports, undergraduate students must be enrolled in six (6) undergraduate credits, and graduate students must be enrolled in at least three (3) graduate credits. Participants must show a valid University ID each time they wish to participate in intramural sports. Players on a Co-Ed team may also play in the Men's or Women's Division of the same sport.
No team? No problem! If you would like to participate in intramural sports as a free agent you will be required to sign-up for an IM Leagues account. Free Agents will be required to attend the sport specific meeting for the sport they desire to participate in. If you are picked up as a free agent, you will need to revisit the IM Leagues website to 'Join A Team', the team captain will need to be added to a roster through IM Leagues to be eligible for play.
